Shahpari Behzadi was born in February 1973. She received her diploma in graphic design from Azadegan Art School and went on to study graphic design at university.
During her studies, she was drawn to illustration and sketching which at the time played a great part in her work.
After completing her studies, she focused on painting and started her career as an artist in Europe (Slovakia and Hungary) and participated in many art residencies. During this time, she held six solo exhibitions and participated in over fifty group exhibitions.
She has also held eight solo exhibitions in Iran.
From the beginning she has focused on abstract art and has never changed her style. In the beginning her work was subject based but they soon moved to formal abstraction. She works on square and circle forms, large paintings in which texture is the main element, specific divisions which combine form and space into one unified painting.
During different periods one can see the presence of subject in her work but in general by focusing on the process one notices a refined image being portrayed.
Her latest series is based on the geometry and abstract forms of historical buildings and Persian architecture, compositions, motifs and small elements in these.
Apart from painting she has been teaching art to begginers in her studio and has over twenty years of experience in teaching children.
